Post-Printing Tips Sand down any rough edges to get it nice and smooth. Then hit it with a heat gun, vapor wash, or your favorite epoxy coating if desired. I personally prefer it with a little bit of texture. Share Your Makes! The Story Behind This Fidget As a self-proclaimed fidgeter, I've always been drawn to certain objects that spark my natural tendency to fidget. A pen cap spinning endlessly is one such example. My go-to fidget involves placing a small object between my thumb and middle finger, then spinning it with my ring and index finger. This design aims to satisfy the fidget itch by incorporating indentations for secure placement, even at high speeds of up to 3 to 4 rotations per second. After trying various fidget spinners that didn't quite meet my expectations, I went through roughly a dozen prototypes to perfect this design. For less than 6 grams of filament and 30 minutes of your time, what have you got to lose? To achieve an organic feel reminiscent of stone or wood, I like to change filaments during the print process to create the look of laminated wood. A fellow fidgeter suggested incorporating a 'worry stone' style into this design. The worry stone features a thumb-shaped indentation ideal for rubbing rather than spinning.
