Fidget Spinner with internal weights
thingiverse
This design is inspired by Duke T's fidget spinner concept, where the weights are embedded within the spinner itself. To accommodate the specified components, this model can hold either three pennies or a single 1 3/4" x 3/16" button magnet, according to Duke T's original instructions. For my build, I found that the pennies fit seamlessly, but unfortunately, the magnets didn't cooperate as expected. To address this issue, I completely rebuilt the design from scratch using Fusion 360, incorporating larger spaces for the magnets to ensure a secure fit. The actual prototype was crafted with Hatchbox Wood PLA filament and underwent a series of refinements before being showcased in its final form. Initially, I employed 600-grit sandpaper followed by an 800-grit polishing step to achieve a smooth finish. After applying a stain and polyurethane coating, the end result features the magnets prominently displayed within the design.
