Designing a Fidget Spinner in Solid Edge and Visualizing it in KeyShot Creating a fidget spinner involves several steps, from conceptualization to final renderings. In this exercise, we will focus on designing the spinner using Solid Edge, a 3D computer-aided design (CAD) software, and then visualizing its design using KeyShot, a rendering engine. Step 1: Designing the Fidget Spinner in Solid Edge To start, open Solid Edge and create a new part. Set up your units of measurement and select the "Part" feature from the toolbar. In this example, we'll be designing a basic three-pronged fidget spinner. In the Feature Tree, right-click to insert a new part. Name it "Fidget Spinner." Next, create a new sketch by clicking on the "Sketch" button in the top menu bar and select 2D Sketch. Draw a circle with a radius of 20mm. This will be the central hub of our fidget spinner. Create another circle with a radius of 15mm inside the first one. This inner circle represents the bearing that allows the fidget spinner to rotate smoothly. Using the "Extrude" feature, create two prongs from the outer and inner circles respectively. The extrusion will give us the initial shape of our fidget spinner. Step 2: Visualizing the Fidget Spinner in KeyShot Once we have completed designing the fidget spinner in Solid Edge, it's time to import it into KeyShot for visualization. Open KeyShot and click on "Import" from the top menu bar. Navigate to your Solid Edge file location and select the fidget spinner part. Click "Open" to import it into KeyShot. In KeyShot, adjust the material properties of the fidget spinner by clicking on the "Materials" tab in the top menu bar. Browse through KeyShot's vast library of materials and select one that suits your design. Finally, set up your camera view and lighting conditions to achieve a realistic rendering of the fidget spinner. You can use KeyShot's built-in camera tools or import pre-existing cameras from other 3D software. With these steps, you've successfully designed and visualized a fidget spinner using Solid Edge and KeyShot.
With this file you will be able to print Fidget Spinner with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Fidget Spinner.
