Fidget Hydrant - Fire Hydrant Desk Toy
prusaprinters
This Fire Hydrant desk toy has a telescoping water effect and the top can be spun while collapsed, making it a fun desk fidget. PrintingThe model can be printed with no supports needed. In my example, the hydrant Base, Top, and Body were printed in Red Shimmer PLA. The “water” part was printed in Blue Silk PLA. There are two versions of the water piece. The water part can be printed in place from the file labeled “FireHydrantWater” or the individual pieces can be printed separately in Vase mode using the files labeled W1-W4. Using a brim is only recommended if printing in Vase mode. The “Splash” piece is optional. Assembly InstructionsIf the Water piece is printed in vase mode, please assemble them first. Then, add the Splash piece to the middle piece where it is at its thinnest with the flat side facing up. Insert the water piece into the Body of the hydrant with the flat portion of the body facing up. Press the Body firmly on the Base. It should be able to fit in snuggly and hold in place through friction. Lastly, fit the top of the water piece into the hole in the bottom of the hydrant Top piece. If the Splash piece starts to slide down the Water piece, please feel free to use a little bit of glue to hold it at the top if you desire.
