After designing this project, I was struck by my own age. It seems anyone under 35 has no idea what a 45 adapter is. I wanted to create a variation on the popular tri-hand spinner that's slightly smaller and thought the 45 adapter would be perfect for it. The bearing used is a standard skateboard bearing - Bones Reds are the smoothest and fastest, I've found. The three machine screws around the outside are 1/4-20 x 3/8, tapped in by hand, but a simple nut and bolt will work too. To press the bearing into place, use an arbor press or channel-locks; printing this solid helps avoid flexing or breaking when pressing in the bearing. I've tried many materials, and heavier ones spin better. Currently, it's a tie between PLA Bronze and PLA Copper for the best results so far.
