After making this project, I am struck by how old-fashioned my thinking has become. It seems that anyone under the age of 35 has no idea what a 45 adapter is. I was trying to create a variation on the popular tri-hand spinner that was slightly smaller, and I thought the 45 adapter would be perfect for it. The bearing used in this project is a standard skateboard bearing (Bones Reds are found to be the smoothest and fastest). The three machine screws around the outside are 1/4-20 x 3/8, but a simple nut and bolt will also work. The bearing can be pressed into place using an arbor press or a pair of channel-locks. I recommend printing this solid to avoid flexing or breaking when pressing in the bearing. I tried many different materials for this project, and the heavier the material, the better it spins. So far, it is a tie between PLA Bronze and PLA Copper.
