Fibonacci Wheel with Skate Bearing
thingiverse
Wheel built for Cub Scout/Boy Scout Dirty Derby Race. Gravity ramp launched at 20ft with a jump. Cars measured 4" wide x 6" tall x 18" long and weighed up to 12lbs, mine tipped the scales at 5lbs. Wheels should have been installed in direction, but I didn't and still held up great. I took first place in Cub Scouts and second overall against two Boy Scout cars and the second-place Cub Scout car. The Cub Scout car that beat me originally ended up beating me for first overall. Bearings used were 608-2RS Skateboard Bearing, Rolling bearings, 8x22x7 from Amazon. I designed a groove for a snap ring, but it rubbed against the shaft, so I ended up gluing the bearings into the wheel.
