Fibonacci Phone Stand Speaker Desktop Planter
thingiverse
Designed to hold any phone both vertically or horizontally, this desktop planter enhances sounds coming from the phone speaker by harnessing the properties of the Fibonacci spiral. Sound enhancement works particularly well with a phone whose speaker is located on the bottom, like an iPhone. The sound enhancement is noticeable but not overwhelming, acting more as a focusing of sound that concentrates it better into a specific direction - toward a person sitting at their desk. This allows one to turn down the phone and listen to a podcast without bothering others nearby. If printed and glued with epoxy, it may not be waterproof like a fish bowl, but will hold Orbeez moisture balls without leaking, allowing one to keep a desktop plant. The balls provide additional weight, therefore improving phone stand stability and sound performance. When printed with transparent filament, the Orbeez colors shine through the phone stand in an attractive way. Other ideas include filling with sand and planting a cactus, or filling with decorative beads or colored glass stones. Alternatively, coating the interior with safe waterproofing allows keeping goldfish or Siamese fighting fish. Filling the bottom inch with cleaned pea gravel and filling up with office supplies - pens, pencils, scissors, etc. - is another creative option.
