Fiat L6/40

The L6/40 was a lightweight battle tank utilized by the Italian military from 1940 through World War II. Fiat-Ansaldo designed it as an export model, but it was adopted by the Italian Army after officials learned of its design and expressed enthusiasm. The L6/40 served as the primary tank used by Italian forces on the Eastern Front alongside the Semovente 47/32 self-propelled gun, which was also based on the L6/40. Additionally, L6/40s were deployed in North Africa during the campaign.
