Fiament Joiner Jig
myminifactory
I was left with numerous short pieces of filament after finishing spools, so I decided to experiment and see if I could join them together. After scouring YouTube for tutorials and failing to achieve success with most methods, I decided to give it a try myself. To get started, you'll need a length of Bowden tube and two fittings. I utilized the spare fitting that came with my printer and an old one from my extruder upgrade. This method is only suitable for short pieces of filament, so please be aware of that before attempting it. Simply insert both ends into the tube, heat the middle section, then push them together until they bond. Allow the join to cool down completely before proceeding. It's essential not to pull the filament through the tube; instead, you'll need to push it through. Once the join is secure, you can begin pulling the filament through. If you found this tutorial helpful, consider leaving a tip in my digital tip jar to support my ongoing filament testing and development.
