FI-LE - Filter and Lenshood for Bay 1 at a glance

Description in a nutshell: Why not combining the filter and lens hood instead of fumbling the filter in the bayonet mount and the hood outside? Why not using usual and cheaper M46 filters, instead hunting for an overpriced bayonet filter? Get both in one place with my gear: Usage The line mark has to stay in top position to screw it in. The hood should after a 90° twist end perfect horizontally and not affect the viewing lens. An M46 filter could snapped in tight and left in the hood. At least it's a good idea to print an extra hood for every filter instead of snap them in and out. Another advance is to keep the filter from touching and smearing with every swap. Printing hints Besides a fine layer height, I recommend watching your first layer setting to match in combination (with the supposed layer height) exactly 1 mm for the bayonet pads. Chose a material with a good tensile strength. The bayonet pads are fragile and will break apart otherwise. I used filamentum CPE 100 filament, it had satisfied all my needs well. After Print Depending on your chosen filament color, you can spray the inner funnel with a black matte color to prevent reflections that will make the hood otherwise senseless. Disclaimer The hood has been tested on a Yashica Mat 124G and fitted well. It's important that your printer keeps the designed measurements. Due to the Bay 1 standard, it should also fit on Rollei and other Bay 1 TLR's.
