Fi Collar Hard Mount / Housing
thingiverse
Fi Collars, at least for me, continuously break at the mount point with a reasonably active, and I guess large enough dog. I've gone through 3, so at this point I'm confident it's a design problem as I have seen others with the exact same issue. This housing will allow you to keep the same Fi unit and not rely on their crappy, problematic mount system. The device slips into the cavity relatively easily and there is enough resistance that it will never (or at least for me has never) fall(en) out. I have 2 dogs that are very active and very large, have had no issues. When it comes time to charge, there is a hole in the bottom that will let you put something through (pliers in my case) so the gps unit will pop out. You can charge and then stick it back in. I've been using on my dogs for a couple months now and have had no issues. As far as print settings, I printed this on a Markforged so I don't really have any settings to share, but there isn't anything tricky. Except maybe the little bezel like round thing at the top which provides resistance and ensures the unit stays safely in there, I imagine you could get some stringing because it's so small if your printer can't handle fine details like that.
