FFXIV - Ugly Duckling Minion

<p>A printable model of the Ugly Duckling minion from FFXIV.<br>You may have to scale the model up significantly due to skewed in-game units converting poorly to real-world units.</p><p>Edit 2/5/22: Split version added to allow flat printing of duck body. Align halves carefully with super glue (or epoxy for longer working time) or drill holes and insert metal wire for alignment pegs.</p><h3>Post-Printing</h3><p>Feet and body are printed separately to reduce strain where the feet attach to the body.<br>Feet have pegs to fit into body-holes. If body holes are too small, use a 1/16" drill bit to widen holes. I recommend not gluing the two parts together so that the feet will detach from the body when dropped or mishandled instead of breaking where you have to print a replacement.<br>Sanded with 120, 220, 400 grit sandpaper, then primed with automotive filler primer and sanded, then filled and sanded again and then finished with 800 grit wet sanding.<br>Sprayed a base coat of white spray paint then hand-brushed details in acrylics.</p><h3>How I Designed This</h3><p>Model was exported from game files then edited in blender to smooth polygons while retaining details. Added pegs that slot into the body and a stand to the feet and separated them from the body for easier printing and cleanup without the chance of accidentally breaking the legs.</p><p>Category: Animals</p>
