FFF Necklace

FFF Necklace

thingiverse

I wanted to create a custom necklace for my partner that embodied the three things I value most in life: faith, family, and friends. This project served as an excellent opportunity to explore how finely detailed text can be printed on a 3D printer and whether the resulting cast metal would preserve the intricate design. To test these parameters, I utilized Autodesk Fusion 360 to create the custom necklace's model, taking into account optimal proportions and intricate details. The photographs provided showcase the finished aluminum cast, based on the initial 3D print. Instructions Using my Makerbot Replicator (1) with settings optimized in Makerware resulted in a detailed print of my custom design: 100 micron layer resolution, 230c extruder temperature No hollow bridge support, resulting in minimal underlayment A 50:50 blend of gray PLA and air flowed through the printer at approximately 10 inches per minute.
