This modified version of the renowned Utah teapot is tailored to thrive on FFF 3D printers. Divided into two parts, the body and lid stand separately. Unlike its ancestor, this model boasts an interior spout that functions flawlessly! Printers can now create it in one shot without any added supports. However, webbed support is needed for the handle's upper portion to maintain stability during printing. Remove it using a sharp knife with ease once completed. Originally sized at 180 mm from the back of the handle to the front of the spout in the STL file, it can be enlarged or shrunk. Scaling down? Add extra thickness to the webbed support for optimal structural integrity – around 0.5 mm should suffice. A prototype made from PLA filament on a makerbot at http://makerbot.creativetools.se proves this adaptable design. Martin Newell of Utah University created the teapot nearly four decades ago, transforming it into an iconic symbol within computer graphics that's widely utilized in software and movies to this day.
