
FFDCA-X: Front Fan Duct Cooldown Attachment for the NSK-X

This is a cooldown system for NSK-X Foam Dart Blaster. It utilizes a 40mm fan to blow air over the motors. This is made to quickly cool down your blaster between matches at events or after prolonged use to prevent any potential overheating or warpage of the 3D printed shell; it is not designed to be permanently attached to the front of the blaster. Simply remove the battery tray door, slide this into place, slide off the rear trunnion (or fixed stock if using it) to allow the hot air to exhaust out of the blaster, and power on the fan. This should cool down your motors, but how quick it does it depends on what 40mm fan you decide to use. (Pictured is a very overkill server fan that spins at 14,700RPM.) Opening the rear of the blaster is recommended, but not necessary; it just allows a better airflow path.Assembly is easy; its all of 2 parts. slide them together, they should stay relatively stable together if your printer has good tolerances. Otherwise, a drop of super glue on both sides works wonders. Other than that, all you need is a 40mm fan of some type and a way to power it; I personally power it off the blaster's battery, but you can power your fan however you want. The only hardware you will need should be:4x M3x4x4.5mm heat set inserts (same ones used in the NSK-X)4x M3 screws (length depends on thickness of the fan)1x 40mm fan (whatever you really want to use; the more airflow, the quicker the motors will be cooled)Whatever other parts you need to supply powerPut the 2 parts together, melt in the inserts, and screw your fan on. A fan grille is recommended (and pictured) but not included in this file set.Print InstructionsPrint however you want; it really doesn't matter, as this piece is not structural. All parts, however, should print without supports, and the detent/latch part should be printed with the large flat side down; printing it perpendicular to this will result in the latches snapping off instead of flexing as intended. The main shroud should be printed with the side that attaches to the fan down on the build plate.
