External Spool Holder for Flashforge Finder. Features a Gimballed Filament Guide with Original Filament Sensor. To Complete This Project, You Will Need Some Essential Components: M3 Screws, 1.5 mm2 Single Strand Electric Wire, and Wire for Connecting the Signal to the Original Spool Compartment. Additionally, You Will Require Standard Tools Such as Soldering Iron and Shrink Wrap. The Following Steps Outline the Assembly Process: 1. Print the Necessary Parts 2. Cut Two Pieces of Single Strand Copper Wire Approximately 1 cm in Length 3. Flatten and Bend One End of Each Wire at a 90-Degree Angle, Inserting Them into the Holes of the Sensor-Connector 4. Remove the Sensor from Its Original Spool Compartment and Insert It into the Sensor Mount Top Part 5. Secure the Sensor Bottom Part to the Top with Two M3 Screws 6. Solder the Signal Wires for Connecting to the Sensor Connector's Copper Wires 7. Thread the Other Ends of the Signal Wires Through the Filament Hole in the Finder Spool Holder 8. Strip the Wire Ends and Insert the Copper Parts into the Holes in the Arms of the Finder Connector, Wrapping the Wires Around the End of the Connector Arms So That Bare Copper Stays on Top of the Bumps. Secure the Wires with Shrink Wrap. 9. Mount the Filament Sensor Assembly to the Gimbal Pin Using an M3 Screw and Nut 10. Attach the Sensor Connector to the Filament Sensor Assembly, Securing It in Place with Two M3 Screws 11. Slide the Gimbal Arm into the Grooves of the Spool Holder 12. Insert the Gimbal Pin into a Hole in the Gimbal Arm To Verify That Everything Functions Properly, Check the Flashprint Machine Control Window and Use Some Filament. If the Finder Does Not Recognize the Filament Correctly, It Is Likely an Issue with the Finder Connector End. The Design Can Be Slightly Finicky, Requiring Twisting and Probing to Establish a Connection. This Modification Is Fully Reversible - If You Wish to Return to Using the Original Flashforge Spool, Simply Unassemble the Sensor from Its Gimballed Holder and Mount It Back into the Original Spool Holder. Happy Printing!
