Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen's Knives from Dune: Part 2

This is a work in progress for sure (meaning it should be updated multiple times over the week of 10-03-24), and the blend files are going to be included in case anyone wants the original files to modify. They were brought into PrusaSlicer, auto scaled up, then scaled 500% to get as close to the movie's scaling as I could guesstimate. That being said, the smoother handle, the larger black blade, and the handle wraps will all be included soon (I hope), but I'd like the files to be put up in case anyone else wants to modify the files and possibly (probably) do it better than I can. White KnifeThe white knife is just that, a knife, so it's fairly small compared to my other models. It's also the thinnest of my models because of my desire for screen accuracy so it's right at 4mm thick which is roughly the thickness of the spine of many knives. The whole knife measures 28.5mm (11.2in) when it's printed out and put together. The “cutting” edge of the knife, however, does not seem to like .6mm nozzles (I haven't tried out a .4mm nozzle), but using a .2mm nozzle seems to work well enough even if that's slower than desirable. Standing the blade straight up may also work to make the edge more consistent, but that hasn't been tested yet. Black KnifeThe black knife is closer to a one-handed sword than a knife so I made sure there was plenty of room for all four fingers to grab onto the handle. The blade is mostly done but the grooves on the spine are only on half of it so those are being added. The v1 file isn't finished since only half of the flat part of the spine has the grooves on it, but it is included just in case. There's also a strange error in the tip that doesn't slice correctly in PrusaSlicer but it does in Cura so I'll try to fix that to where it's perfectly fine in either one. This one seems to like larger nozzles however since it sliced correctly on a .6mm nozzle so that's a big plus. I realized that there's no index finger slot in the black blade so I took that out and made it just another part of the blade. The grooves have been added all along the spine so it's pretty screen-accurate now. The slicing errors for v2 are completely gone so they sliced correctly in both PrusaSlicer and Cura.HandleThe handle is un-bevel-able as a whole so that'll be.. fun. I may leave it as-is since it's a lot less “sharp” than I expected when it's all printed out, but I'll try to add a wrap of some sort to maybe balance that out. CutsAll of the pieces should fit onto a Prusa Mini/ Ender 2 because the largest part is 165mm and all the rest are ≤160 from end to end.  I decided to try something new that hopefully works a lot better than my "eyeball it" method that I've been using for cutting up models. All of the dovetails have a groove depth, width, flap angle, and tolerance of 5.0mm, 6.0mm, 70°, and 0.20mm, respectively. I want the tolerance to be slightly larger than default just so it's not such a tight fit on printers that aren't as dialed in as others *cough my own cough*. In my mind it's also a funny visual to see part one connected to the tip but maybe I'm alone on that. I also put more of a traditional rectangular tang on this one rather than a circular one and having to inset the blade into the handle, so this tang should be a lot cleaner and easy to put together. Should. (Copypasta from my other models with some tweaking for the smaller blades)For the first time ever I've tested my model Before posting it (even in an unfinished state) which means that from now on, I'm only obligated to test one in every 10. Yep (this is totally a joke but I definitely needed to test this one as I was making it). I also can't add any other pictures of the blades for obvious reasons (they were used to do bad-guy things) so these two semi-ominous ones should be good enough.
