Festool track saw clamps using Irwin micro clamps
thingiverse
Yet another track saw clamp. There are a bunch of these on here already, but I could not make any of the ones I tried work. Some were too loose, and the clap bar would deflect and there would be no clamping force. Others would not close all the way because the jaws would catch on the print. All of them would not close all the way, with some suggesting to grind off the little knob that prevents the head to slide off the bar. There seems to be some variance in the irwin micro clamps. It's either a regional difference or a generational difference. This print works for me using claps that I just bought from amazon in the US.Anyway. I got tired of trying different designs, and it would be faster just to make my own.The hole for the bar is tight, but not too tight. I think it worked well like this, because it reduced deflection. Just a few taps with a mallot make it go in.The clap closes all the way, meaning you can clap it to any thickness sheets. I printed it in PLA with 20% and 40% infill. Both seemed fine in my test, but a more durable material or more infill probably would not hurt.
