Festool 498528 vacuum cleaner dust adapter to 35mm
thingiverse
Human: To connect a standard 35mm vacuum cleaner to a Festool tool that uses the reducing sleeve (Absaugadapter) 498528, you'll need an adapter. This adapter, like the one mentioned for the router OF 1010, has a left-hand thread on one side that simulates the hose of the Festool Cleantec dust extractors and a 35mm conical opening on the other side that attaches to a standard 35mm vacuum cleaner hose used by Kärcher and other brands. It easily connects to the vacuum cleaner when needed, without any changes to the original reducing sleeve part. Files: I've designed two versions of the adapter file - one with a raft and the other without. This is because I dislike auto-generated rafts in Makerware, so you can choose which one suits your needs. Printing: The adapter can be printed in an upright position (as shown in the photo) with the thread pointing towards the printbed. I've successfully printed it in ABS at 230°C with a heated bed of 85°C and a layer height of 0.2mm on FR4 using a sticky goo (ABS dissolved in acetone). Post-printing: If you chose to print the version with a raft, carefully break the two raft-rings from the adapter by bending them upwards several times. Then clean the inner surface of the 35mm side with sandpaper or a fine half-rounded rasp.
