Modelboats tend to getting bigger and heavier. A fellow boat builder showed me his idea of the "self-adjusting and fending" mooring line for a (model-)mooring kai. The aim was to let the boat sit in the water for the whole event without being afraid of sudden waves or having to break one's fingers while trying to belay the lines on tiny pollards. A great solution, but it needed a bit of camouflage, which I designed in a model-type way. These can be mounted on the pier or on the model, either way has its improvements, as you can see from the photos. You can also find a short description in the German SCHIFFSMODELL magazine. I used the retractors found here: https://amzn.to/2EPnqnv or if you just need one, use this link: https://amzn.to/2ENjjIo. Of course, you could use the ones you have handy or are available at your comfort. To make them fit, I included the 123D Design files. Using these retractors, you'll have to bend the metal clip upwards carefully and unhook it to slide it out. For printing, I used a 100% filling and in the inner chamber where the retractor will house, a normal support structure. Enjoy it! I'd be glad to read any comments about it. Thanks! P.S: The Amazon link is an affiliate link. If you decide to use it to order the retractors, you won't pay more or have any negative effect. Amazon will pay me a small percentage, which will help me design more things. So no, it won't do you any harm!
