Ferry Sandringham - Badnam Creek, River Hamble

The Sandringham Ferry: This vessel was the steam-powered Gosport ferry 'Sandringham'. Built in 1900, it replaced a previous ferry called the 'Eva Mary', and served in the Navy during both world wars before becoming a cruise boat sailing around the Solent and Southampton Water. Its current condition is very poor, with sections of its hull structure collapsing. The remains are hazardous and will become even more so as they continue to deteriorate. This model was created using a drone survey conducted in 2017 as part of the Maritime Archaeology Trust's Heritage Lottery funded Forgotten Wrecks of the First World War project.
