Ferrocerium (Ferro) Rod Handle
thingiverse
I designed a handle for my new Bayite ferro rod, measuring 6 inches long and 0.5 inches thick. The handle features a precise hole that aligns perfectly with the drilled hole in the rod, allowing me to secure them together with a piece of paracord. This setup makes it easy to remove the paracord when replacing the ferro rod. When inserted into the handle, approximately 4.8 inches of the ferro rod protrude, providing an ample surface area for generating intense sparks. To ensure smooth printing, I recommend rotating the STL model file 180 degrees in your slicing software so that the handle opening is at the top. This clever trick eliminates the need for any supports during the printing process.
