Ferrite bead anti pull out cone

A protective cone is placed on a cable near a ferrite bead to prevent the bead from snagging on a table edge and yanking the cable loose. This setup works well for me with a scanner that typically sits on my desk's back edge. Whenever I want to use it, I simply pull it forward to the front edge of the desk. Without this cone, I often found myself pulling out the cable, only to have to crawl under the desk to retrieve it. The connecting mechanism doesn't function properly, so I had to secure the two parts with adhesive tape. Despite its imperfect design, the cone does its job effectively, and I see no need to develop a more elegant solution.
