This was designed for a friend who specifically needed a ferris case which was portable but also had a tent for ergonomics.

Picking Parts:

At the time of writing, this model has three different versions. Pick which version you want from the table below and make the parts from the corresponding files to make it. Note that there are revisions of the model which also allow for rubber feet to be printed with it. You can replace these rubber feet with cut down SKUF rubber feet if you have them, or if you can manufacture the feet yourself that is best. I attempted to make them out of TPU, but they ended up not grippy enough. YMMV.

Description:

Required Files

A version of the model which has holes for the feet and a cutout for a TRRS jack.

BodyYesJackYesFeet.stl

LegYesFeet.stl

BigRubberFoot.stl

SmallRubberFoot.stl

A version of the model which has flat faces for no feet and a cutout for a TRRS jack.

BodyYesJackNoFeet.stl

LegNoFeet.stl

A version of the model which has flat faces for no feet and no cutout (intended for bluetooth keebs using the ferris board)

BodyNoJackNoFeet.stl

LegNoFeet.stl

A version of the model which has holes for the feet and a cutout for a TRRS jack

BodyNoJackYesFeet.stl

LegYesFeet

BigRubberFoot.stl

SmallRubberFoot.stl

To assemble:

It is intended that you drive a 10mm m4 screw into both sides of the leg unit until they hit the body unit's interior wall. I found .7 pitch screws drive nicely. Additionally, if you have the “with feet” option below, I have found that super glue works well to attach the feet to the body if you do not have any other adhesive.

Closing Notes:

In the future I would like to make more revisions of this design with other features (things like a way to latch the two halves together, a more stable mechanism for keeping the leg in its two positions) but for now I figured it was better to just get it out there. Remix it if you want.
