This is My Ferret-proofing Plan in Action: Securing the Litter Pan with a Bolted Solution. I tried out a new litter pan that claimed to secure my ferrets' home, but it had a major flaw - it was only attached at the top and those clever critters managed to move the entire pan and even broke a part of the bolt mechanism. Not this time, though! I've designed a bolt-and-nut system to keep the litter pan firmly in place once I print out my creation. As soon as I work out any kinks, you can expect to see an update with a photo. **Locking Down the Litter Pan** Get your drill ready! Use it to make holes at strategic spots on your litter pan. Insert the bolt so that its head stays inside the litter box. Next, secure the nut tightly to keep the bolt snug against the pan. Once the pan is back in its cage, attach the washer from the outside and finish by locking down the pan with a wing nut. Settings for this operation include: • Resolution: 0.5 • Bolt Type: Standard Bolt • Non-Threaded Diameter: Not Needed • Thread Step Size: 2.5 • Length of Thread: 25 mm • Angle of Threads: 45 Degrees • Number of Turns to Drill for Bolts and Nuts: 2 • Width of the Hole Cut for the Washer: 1 mm • Surface Quality Required: No Texture Needed • Diameter of Outer Edge: 14 mm • Depth of Hole for Nut: 2 mm • Desired Print Resolution: 0.5 • Total Thickness Required: 2 mm
