The Ferrari 348 is a mid-engined V8 sports car that succeeded the Ferrari 328 in 1989. Featuring a naturally aspirated 3.4L version of the quad-cam, 4-valve per cylinder engine from the 288 GTO supercar, it produced 300 hp and had a longitudinal engine with transverse gearbox, unlike previous small Ferraris. The US models had onboard OBDI systems, while European variants required dash bulbs for trouble-shooting. Distinctive side air intakes gave the car a Testarossa-like appearance.
