DESCRIPTION: A very accurate and intricate three-dimensional representation of a modern interpretation of the original 1969 Ferrari 312 P Berlinetta serial number 0872, later stamped to 0868 in order to avoid administrative problems during the Le Mans competition. HISTORY: The Ferrari 312 P was a racing car belonging to Group 6 Prototype-Sports that competed from 1969 and 1970. In protest of the rules change which also barred their 4-liter 330 P4 in 1968, Ferrari produced a 3000cc prototype known as the 312 P in 1969. This model was essentially nothing more than a 3-liter F1 Ferrari 312 with an open-top Barchetta body design and later modified to include a closed top Berlinetta design. FEATURES: A remarkably high quality polygonal model featuring quads only, originally designed in 3ds Max. Materials including default and V-Ray for use with 3ds Max, as well as standard materials provided for Maya and FBX format are included within the model package. The scale of the model is set at real-world scale using metric units (centimeters) to ensure precise positioning on any given scene. This allows users the flexibility of creating highly detailed models suitable for a wide range of applications, from close-up rendering shots to high-definition movie footage. The level of resolution can be modified with great precision as a result of quad modeling, enabling any desired degree of detail. Furthermore, due to proper modeling and application of techniques allowing close-ups, even the smallest of parts have been modeled down to extreme details (such as the minute screws and other components found on an actual racing car). The 90 individual objects found within the model package, each with instance MeshSmooth applied, allow users the ability to effortlessly change subdivision levels with ease. A total of 56 textures have been utilized across this project in order to recreate real-world conditions; including textures for the car body paint, decals, gauges and all associated parts.
