I've struggled with opening my Fermonsters after they'd been fermenting for a while, often not tightening them down enough. To get around this, I tried using my belt to open them, but it wasn't always effective. Recently, I measured the lid and cut out a shape that allows me to use leverage without any issues. This solution works well, and you can easily leave the inside grip in place while adding your own outer handle.
