A dear friend of mine recently lost her son to a tragic overdose, prompting me to create educational content for an event focused on opioid addiction with a specific emphasis on Fentanyl. As many are aware, Fentanyl is an extremely potent synthetic opioid that can be lethal even in minute quantities - as little as 3 milligrams is considered fatal. The United States and other parts of the world are currently grappling with a devastating opioid epidemic, resulting in thousands of reported deaths annually. Due to the prevalence of strong opioids like Fentanyl being mixed with recreational drugs, the risk of overdose is alarmingly high, and unfortunately, the grim epidemic is projected to escalate further. Vancouver's mayor, who oversees the city's largest open-air drug market, recently described their Fentanyl crisis as nothing short of a "bloodbath". Fentanyl is 30-50 times stronger than Morphine and 50-100 times more potent than Heroin. My design showcases the chemical formula (C22H28N2O) and molecular structure of Fentanyl, also comparing its lethal dose to that of Morphine and Heroin.
