Fenris rapid-load storage clip
thingiverse
This is a storage clip for 5 arrows, enabling rapid loading of Joerg Sprave's "Fenris" as produced by Steambow. You slide the arrow nocks into the clip. Once your bow is empty, pick up your full storage clip. Slide the arrow heads in first, then position the clip so that it form-fits on the Steambow nock slide. There are two items to help you position the clip. There is a little protruding "nub" at the extreme end, and there is a little recess that fits over the "loading nub" on the Fenris. Between the arrow tips being pushed down by the big retaining arm on the Fenris, and these two positioning nubs, your arrows should be perfectly located above the Fenris. Push down on the arrows near the loader and all five should pop in immediately. You will likely want to use some sort of mid-weight oil or grease on the clip, and print on a fairly high-resolution printer to get a smooth-sliding clip. You can likely print on almost any printer, but you might have to do a significant amount of filing to smooth-out the profile enough to make loading smooth. The OpenSCAD file is included. So you can easily print out a thicker, more stable version of this clip if you like. I will likely upload a few more .stl files with various customization parameters, in the coming months. clip.6.stl is the one with thinner walls. clip.7.stl has the thicker walls.
