Fennec Fox Ring

Now Available on Shapeways! ––– I'm thrilled about Angus's Fennec Fox Ring, but when I printed it, I encountered some defects and my Replicator 2 with MakerWare Software struggled to handle the ears. So, I've remodeled the design to work better. It's been totally rebuilt in blender with a thinner ring, and I've brought the fox head closer to the finger and moved it down so the chin is at the same level as the bottom of the ring. The ring itself is significantly thinner and less faceted, which looks great printed in transparent filament. I've evened out the ears so they're the same height and improved some of the asymmetries. The ears were a particular focus, with the facets adjusted to catch light in their subtle flat planes along the grain of the print. Infill and supports are unnecessary, so it prints a bit quicker than the original - about 20 minutes on a Replicator 2. Also note that the ring is sized differently from Angus's version. Sizing: Printed at 100% the inside diameter of the ring is 16.2mm, which converts to these international ring sizes: US: 5 1/2 Australia/UK/Ireland: K 1/2 Japanese: 10 Swiss: 11 3/4 Scale as appropriate before printing to get the right size!
