The Fender Telecaster, commonly called the Tele, was the world's initial successful solid-body electric guitar. Its innovative design and sound were groundbreaking and set trends in guitar manufacturing and music. Initially launched as the Broadcaster in 1950 for nationwide distribution, it was the first of its kind produced on a large scale and has continuously been in production since then.
