Fence insulator for a small garden

I designed a simple electric insulator system for my small vegetable garden, which is surrounded by neighbors who generously feed the local squirrel population. As soon as I planted anything, those sneaky squirrels would sample or dig up everything, leaving me frustrated and eager to find a solution. I initially tried installing a 1/2 inch PVC pipe fence, but those clever squirrels simply leapt right over it. Undeterred, I acquired an electric fence charger and wire, which I used to create three tiers of insulation: one at 3 inches, another at 6 inches, and the third at 12 inches. This setup effectively prevents squirrels from entering my garden, while also keeping raccoons and possums at bay. I chose a low-voltage system that delivers a mild shock to deter them without causing harm. However, I must continuously keep the electric fence charged to maintain its effectiveness, as the squirrels quickly adapt and attempt to breach the barrier whenever it's turned off.
