FemtoRig is an advanced python script For facial rigging 3D model
cgtrader
This video demonstrates FemtoRig, a script I developed for face rigging. It offers a perfect balance between art and technique, enabling users to create high-quality film rigs. The script has been used in multiple TV series and a movie, with over 250 characters rigged using FemtoRig. To install, simply copy the CMYScripts folder anywhere and drag the install.mel file into your Maya scene. An icon will be added to your active shelf. The script creates two types of modules: Generic Modules and Centric Modules. Centric modules share a microcontroller for both sides and are ideal for features like mouth or nose, while Generic modules don't share microcontrollers and are suitable for areas like eyebrows or cheeks. Modules can have submodules for precision control over specific facial features. Each module has three types of controllers: Main, Macro, and Micro. Main controllers move the entire module; Macro controllers create main shapes and expressions; and Micro controllers provide detailed control with seamless integration into blend shapes. The script automatically generates initial weights for microcontrollers using vector-math for accuracy. Micro controllers move with the model's deformation, even when blend shapes are applied. Smart skinning tools simplify the skinning process, allowing users to create joint-based rigs easily. Additional features include saving and loading skinning weights for multiple objects, transferring skinning between objects or object portions, stretch and squash creators, and automatic transfer of blend shapes between models with connected drivers.
