Female Warrior
thingiverse
Warrior girl statuette. Clad in a bone armor bikini, what else? Modeled in Blender using the manual Bastion female rig. Clothing and hair were a pain to add, so all armor, hair, and cosmetics relating to the figure have been extruded from the body of the model itself. The skull has been cleared of eyeballs, tongue, and teeth since they're more trouble than they're worth when printing. Main photo shows the model printed in PLA at 200mm height on a Makergear M3, with 100micron layers for the head and 300 microns for the rest of the model. Next time, I'd probably do the whole thing at 100 since some striation is visible in the slope of the neck and shoulders. However, I had a problem with the base warping in a previous attempt, so I adopted a brute force and speed approach the second time around. The model is finished off with a few splashes of acrylic. Note - the model in the print photos was actually non-manifold - it printed fine but I've cleaned up the STL that I've uploaded. A small gap appears in the axe blade at larger print scales, but doesn't detract from the overall effect.
