Renowned photographer Cosmo Wenman captured an Esquiline Venus statue in November 2012 at the Louvre. He processed, printed, and published it on his website along with a story from NPR (http://www.npr.org/blogs/alltechconsidered/2013/10/11/231450884/3-d-printing-a-masterwork-for-your-living-room). However, Wenman's current Skulpturhalle project and his forthcoming publications of Venus de Milo or Winged Victory were not mentioned. For more information on that, visit http://cosmowenman.com. Wenman took 140 photos initially, but after running them through ReCap Photo, he got much better results. He edited the images with Blender and added a base. The unedited version includes portions of the Louvre gallery. Wenman believes both figures will print cleanly in PLA without any supports. According to the Louvre's catalog description, the statue is an example of the "eclectic" Neo-Attic school, combining elements from various previous schools. Wikipedia states that its subject has been interpreted as either the Roman goddess Venus or a nude mortal female bather tying up her hair with a fillet.
