Female to Female Hotshoe Adapter
thingiverse
As a media producer, my go-to camera is the Canon XC15 UHD. It's often considered a secondary or "B" camera, but with this fix, I can now utilize its full capabilities. The XC15 uses a sound bridge to integrate audio into the camera. Although the built-in mics function properly, they serve mainly as references for my work. The issue arises when attaching a wireless mic, as there's no straightforward way to connect it to the camera's hotshoe. This is due to the fact that the XC15 sound bridge features an additional male "hotfoot," but it lacks a natural means of attachment. To resolve this problem, I've created multiple adapters in case one breaks or malfunctions. By using high-quality PLA materials like ColorFabb PLA/HPA, these adapters have proven to be surprisingly durable. Despite being subjected to regular use, they continue to perform flawlessly, and I'm thoroughly satisfied with the results.
