This stunning female mastodon tusk was unearthed during excavation at Diamond Valley Lake in Hemet, California, where construction crews inadvertently stumbled upon a hidden treasure. On September 6, 2018, experts at the Western Science Center used cutting-edge technology to meticulously scan the tusk with their Go!Scan 50 device. Museum specimen L2726-1333 has been designated to document this remarkable find, and it is proudly displayed thanks to the courtesy of the Western Science Center.
