Female head. Fragment of a statue
myminifactory
This impressive head likely originates from a workshop in Lombardy, which collaborated closely with the two main architectural and decorative projects of the 1500s: Milan's Cathedral and Pavia's Certosa. The head bears striking resemblance to "the Holy Agnes," also crafted by Benedetto Briosco in 1491 (Milan, Museo del Duomo). Shared characteristic features, such as the treatment of eyelids and eyebrows, skin folds, can be found in both heads. Initially attributed to Amadeo, circa 1447-1522 (Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek), this work is now firmly believed to be the creation of Benedetto Briosco.
