Background:

I needed to cut down some female Dupont headers and found the jig by Nikki81. It worked well, but I wanted to make some minor tweaks so I created a parametric design in Fusion 360 that allows you to adjust things like the length easily.

If you have access to Fusion 360, just go into the user parameter section to tweak settings such as the kerf width, length, channel width, etc. Note that if you change the number of keystones, you may need to tweak the visibility of one of the items.

There is a countersunk hole for an M3 flathead screw if you want to mount this to a surface. I just hold mine manually.

Printing:

The STL file should import into your slicer in the correct orientation. I printed mine in PLA with 20% infill. I supposed you could use your slicer to make the area around the saw kerf 100% infill, but I didn't find that to be necessary.

Use:

Using a pair of pliers, remove the pin next to the last pin that will remain in your piece.

Place the header into the channel of the jig with the pins aligned between the keystones. The area where you removed the pin should align to the kerf area.

Use a hacksaw to cut the header.

[OPTIONAL]

Option 1: Sand the end of the cut to clean it up further

Option 2: Flip the piece to the other side of the jig and cut it again. This will trim the piece a bit more.
