Felt LM8UU Surrogate
thingiverse
LM8UU-sized printable bushings utilize affordable felt furniture glides as their bearing surface. Two options are provided: one with six pads for full linear rod constraint and another with four pads to prevent rotation while allowing side movement, avoiding binding. This design replicates the original Sells Mendel setup, keeping costs low. To use, obtain 4 or 6 Waxman 3/8" round felt pads (http://www.amazon.com/Waxman-Self-Stick-Round-Brown-8-Inch/dp/B000VYN7CS), print and insert the pads, thoroughly grease, and replace with LM8UU. When employing the 4-pad (unconstrained) version, ensure correct rotation on the linear rod to inhibit rotation about the opposite rod while permitting motion towards it.
