FelFil EVO extruder case
thingiverse
I purchased a filament extruder (Basic Kit) from [FelFil](https://felfil.com/shop/felfil-evo-basic-kit/?v=f003c44deab6), an excellent piece of open hardware. I designed a housing for it, striving to make it simple to print and service. - The top panel is split into two halves that can be easily opened, allowing access to internal components without disassembling the panels. - External power supplies, 12vdc 15A, are connected to the case via a standard 3-pin PC connector IEC320 C14 (12V+ / Gnd / 12V-). - The original hopper has been redesigned. - An optional lower hopper has been added to prevent accumulation of unused pellets on the bottom. - Another optional lower hopper adapter can be used as an alternative, achieving the same result. - Two versions are available: one for a full-size bed (350mm) and another for a 200mm bed, with longer items split to facilitate printing. I recommend using [glassy](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2460758)'s motor cooler; see his thing for more details. - It is crucial to insulate the heating chamber with 30/40mm thick rock wool wrapped around and covered with Kapton tape to maintain reliable temperature and protect nearby plastic from heat damage.
