Feet for camp chair
thingiverse
After my flimsy knockoff Helinox chair gave way, sending me crashing to the ground when I sat down, I realized it was time for some serious support. The first image shows the pathetic foot that came with the chair - barely enough to keep it from sinking into soft earth unless you wiggled a bit. The second picture reveals a basic support, but I wanted something more substantial, so the third image showcases what I came up with next: a sturdy base measuring 1.5 inches in diameter and a thickness of 0.250 inches. A socket for the chair leg is positioned at a 40-degree angle, with ample space for easy insertion. If desired, a small amount of hot glue or flexible adhesive will secure the support to the chair leg. These supports are so lightweight that even backpackers can carry several spares along without adding bulk, yet they remain surprisingly strong.
