Feel VR Pedals One mods

Human: I scored a set of Feel VR Pedals One on Ebay. Generally, these pedals are decent but I made some modifications to improve a few things and enhance the look of the pedals. ### Enclosure I wanted to use a proper USB cable and have better access to the electronics so I built a custom enclosure. The design is very tight, but everything fits perfectly. In the enclosure, there's room for the main PCB board and a USB type B breakout. Parts required: * USB type B breakout (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000216515466.html) * 2x M3 x 20mm bolt * 2x M3 nut * 4x M5 x 12mm bolt (can be slightly longer) * 4x M5 nut * small wire to connect the USB breakout to the main PCB ### Baseplate spacers The baseplate is made from very thin steel and lacks support under the brake. This causes the baseplate to flex too much. I solved this by adding two additional supports just before and after the brake. So, I have a total of six supports for the entire baseplate. This resolves 80-90% of my flex issues. It's not completely gone, but almost. ## Brake mods I didn't like the look of the chrome cylinder over the brake bumpers/bushings. So, I started by making an alternative preload spring guide to get rid of the chrome cylinder. Furthermore, the yellow bumper is only 65 SH, which is very soft and I prefer a harder brake so I replaced this part with a solid (60% infill) PLA piece. I also noticed that the bumpers would move around a bit. This is probably due to the fact that the shaft is about 8mm while the hole in the bumpers is about 9mm. I solved this by using custom 3D printed washers which will keep the bumpers in place. ### Throttle mods I didn't really like the shape of the original throttle pedal. I also think it's too narrow, so I designed a new wider version. The design is loosely based on the design of the brake/clutch pedal so it fits right in. I used a 5mm aluminium sheet to make the pedal using a jigsaw. ### Final note I just made these mods for fun and to improve a couple things about these pedals. I hope my designs are useful to you or inspire you to make your own mods.
