Feeding Tube Connection Cover

Feeding Tube Connection Cover

My cousin Rebekah was born with microcephaly, a birth defect where a baby's head is smaller than expected because their brain didn't fully develop in the womb or stopped developing after birth. Children with microcephaly can lead normal lives, but some experience delayed cognitive development and require daily care. At 12 years old, Rebekah cannot speak or feed herself, yet her smile and laugh light up the room wherever she goes. Because she has trouble chewing, Rebekah uses a feeding tube, and with her child-like curiosity, she likes to grab and pull things that capture her attention - like her feeding tube. My aunt asked me if I could make something to keep Rebekah from disconnecting her feeding tube while eating, and now I'm finally able to do it! I spent the last few months designing, prototyping, re-designing, and re-prototyping to come up with this solution. It's meant to thread over Rebekah's feeding tube connection to keep it together and allow my aunt and uncle to clip it to her wheelchair. I'd be open to suggestions on how to improve it! If you have any questions, please let me know. I've also entered this design in the Instructables Epilog Laser Contest for April 2019. If you get a chance and like my design, please vote for me!
