I was assigned to identify and develop an Open Source Appropriate Technology for one of my classes. A list of various projects to choose from caught my attention, and this particular project stood out. It originated from the Kijenzi/HESE project. This device enables sanitary extraction of a fecal sample. In comparison to a similar proprietary design, it costs nearly 99% less. The device is 100% 3D printable and took me only one hour to create. It was adapted from a pill bottle designed to be attached to a key chain. This link can be found in the acknowledgements section.
