Featureless Grip

This is not a weapon and cannot be used as one. It's an accessory designed specifically for rifles but does not make them more or less dangerous. This accessory changes the ergonomics of the rifle, preventing a pistol-style grasp, which is in compliance with laws in California and New York states. This product is legal anywhere that the rifle itself is legal, and it will not aid criminals who seek to obtain the rifle illegally. If you have any questions regarding its use or legality, please feel free to contact me. Thank you! This accessory fits standard AR receivers and securely holds the selector detent and spring in place. It uses a standard 0.25-inch diameter screw. The design is based on a similar concept by the owner of riflegrip.com, but he decided against mass production. As a result, I created this grip for personal use and to share with others. I've made an adjustment to the initial design. The original version may have protruded too much in California, and the cap didn't prevent a pistol-style grasp as required by California law. However, both issues should be resolved in New York state. To ensure compliance with California law, I recommend using the revised version with the reduced front "hook" protrusion. Notes: The images show the grip as I printed it before making adjustments for comfort. To improve usability, I rounded the upper edge to reduce sharpness. I'm using the makers edition 4-inch bed, which doesn't require supports when used with the raft piece I designed. If you're printing this on a smaller bed or using a pinned collapsible stock, I highly recommend securing the two pieces together using a 1.5 or 2-inch wood screw from the back. Post-Printing: If you're using this grip with a pinned collapsible stock, I strongly advise using a 1.5 or 2-inch wood screw to hold the two pieces in place. This is especially important when printing on a 4-inch bed, as I had to break the design into two parts due to bed constraints. If you choose to use the single piece or minimalist cap, this additional support is unnecessary. Design Process: I used Autocad and based my design off of pictures at riflegrip.com and the physical grip that my brother ordered to get a general understanding of ergonomics. You can further customize this accessory by applying plasti-dip or stippling for different textures and grip styles.
