I'm just passing along what my brother came up with, so give him all the credit. Take precise measurements of this little guy using whatever precision tool you have at hand - Vernier calipers, dial calipers, digital calipers, a set of micrometers, or even a Coordinate Measuring Machine will do. Feed those measurements into the attached spreadsheet, fill in the [Additional Info] section with your current machine setup, and it'll run the numbers through a linear regression to figure out the ideal steps per mm for you.
