03.02.2018 - added two new front grip designs 28.01.2018 - created and added a mount adapter for a stock/shoulder rest like this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2398544 This is an adaptation of the famous FDL-2X Nerf gun, operated by an Arduino Pro Mini. Arduino is much cheaper, easier to get and easier to program for most users. As there was no documentation on the pusher motor handling I designed my own based on a TB6612 breakout board. All files like the Eagle PCB files and the Arduino sketch with libraries are here: https://github.com/trilu2000/FDL-2_Arduino/ I tried to use only easy-to-get components for my electronics: As for the Arduino Pro Mini, different versions of the voltage regulator are available. Please be aware that a charged 3S battery pack has more than 12 volts. I got mine from here – they are good up to 16 volts or so… https://de.aliexpress.com/item/5Pcs-Pro-Mini-328-Mini-5V-16M-ATMEGA328-ATMEGA328P-AU-5V-16MHz-for-Arduino-5V-16V/32829288603.html The Display is a standard 0.96 inch, I2C, OLED display from here: https://de.aliexpress.com/item/0-96-inch-IIC-Serial-White-OLED-Display-Module-128X64-I2C-SSD1306-12864-LCD-Screen-Board/32780054633.html But you will find it at eBay or other electronic stores as well. Motor driver for the pusher motor is a TB6612FNG breakout board - https://www.sparkfun.com/products/14451 Or https://de.aliexpress.com/item/5PCS-Free-Shipping-Dual-Motor-Drive-1A-TB6612FNG-for-Arduino-Microcontroller-Better-than-L298N-TB6612/32696432503.html The encoder is a standard 3-pin encoder with a push button from here: https://de.aliexpress.com/item/20PCS-LOT-Original-Rotary-encoder-code-switch-EC11-digital-potentiometer-with-switch-5Pin-handle-length-15mm/32759410968.html As it is a standard component and I have some more projects in mind, I ordered some more. For the other components, I found a BOM from Jesse at the FDL-2+ thing (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2332045/#files) I like to share my experiences here as I had problems getting some parts. The most difficult part to get was the ESE-11HS1 Panasonic micro switch for the pusher motor front and back detection. To get parts from a distributor in Germany, you have to be a business customer; they are not doing any business with private customers. Only RS has two internet portals, one for business and the other for private customers. But even then, the shipping cost in relation to the product price is too high. After some research, I ended up again at my favorite component shop – aliexpress.com https://de.aliexpress.com/item/20PCS-ESE11HS1-detection-switch-expansion-handle-limit-detection-switch-threading-pin/32806332500.html Another difficult part was the pusher motor itself. But I found an alternative with the “V-TEC 12V Mini 25D DC Motor” here: https://eckstein-shop.de/V-TEC-12V-Mini-25D-DC-Motor-Gleichstrom-Getriebe-Motor-Stirnradgetriebe-770-RPM Great shop, good value products and fast delivery. The ESC's and brushless motors are available at hobbyking.com. All other parts like screws, cables, pin connectors, etc I found at eBay.
